Revenge of The Goo Goo Dolls by Dan

In a quiet place with a green grassy lawn you
will find the Dillard Fine Arts Center. It is an artistic emblem, a paradise for
all artists, musicians, and dancers. In front of this glass domed building is
Dan Millspaugh's statue inspired by the band "The Goo Goo Dolls." The
spikes may represent the hard times and struggles of college, such as bad
grades, but they may be taken away by the pillar holding the spikes, such as
being applauded for good grades. The pillar is the firm standing base that
relates to strong will and self-discipline. We see that ugliness (the
rusted colors) can be taken away by the beauty of the surroundings (the grassy
lawn and bushes). It is a quiet, relaxing place to bring your laptop and see new
construction. Individuality and the abstract are what make the artistic mind
work. The front of the Dillard Fine Arts Center is just the place for that
to occur.
