McWane Hall

Photo from Lynchburg College Campus Tour

McWane Residence Hall is a huge brick housing unit between two other identical buildings named Freer Hall and Shackelford Hall. It is somewhat separated from the campus, but connected by a small walk space around Shellenberger Field. Surrounded by tamed shrubbery and greenery, the building looks inviting when looking through the large pillars in front. Students hanging out of windows remind me that this is a college building with music playing faintly in the distance. The balcony over the main entrance serves as a wonderful "sky box" for the numerous sporting events on the lacrosse field.

For the next seven months McWane
Hall is the place I call home. This place is very busy, because you
frequently see students coming and going from class. All the
girls in my hall are my closest friends. Walking through the halls you often
times see people hanging out, watching movies, and of course studying. The
halls are cleverly decorated by themes. Whenever I need a
break from the stresses of school work, I can walk down the hall and relax with
friends. I would definitely suggest McWane as the perfect place for a transfer
student to live.
